AN AUSTRALIAN FIRST
We are beyond excited to share a significant milestone in the history of One Raceway. As the first and only circuit in Australia to officially operate bi-directionally, we are thrilled to announce the successful debut of the Shelley Circuit (anti-clockwise) at Bluey's Round-up on Saturday 18th - Sunday 19th—this is a game-changer for motorsport in Australia!
After receiving official certification from Motorsport Australia, the Shelley Circuit was put to the test during the weekend's Bluey's Round Up event. It was an unforgettable experience, as we were able to run both the Wakefield Circuit in the clockwise direction on Saturday and the Shelley Circuit in the anticlockwise direction on Sunday. This marks an important achievement for us, and we're proud to have been able to host such an important event.
Highlights from Bluey’s Round Up
The weekend wasn’t just about a new direction; it was about incredible endurance, fierce competition, and an unforgettable atmosphere. We proudly hosted the Motor Events Racing Charity Enduro, where 43 cars battled it out across two days, aiming for the highest lap count. By the end of the weekend, the combined efforts saw more than 52,000 kilometers covered, with each vehicle averaging over 280 laps! The level of competition was off the charts, and the professionalism of the participants made it a truly remarkable event.
And here's the best part—there were no major safety incidents or injuries during the entire weekend, which is a testament to the thoughtful design and careful planning that went into both circuits. The safety of participants is always our top priority, and it's great to see that all of our hard work paid off.
A Proud Moment for the Region
The commissioning of the Shelley Circuit also marks another important milestone for the Goulburn region. This solidifies the region's role as a vital hub for Australian motorsport, and we couldn’t be more excited about the future of racing here.
Looking Ahead
The successful operation of both circuits during Bluey’s Round Up has set a high standard for future events at One Raceway. We’re excited that we now have the ability to host motorsport events on two circuits, which will allow for more flexibility, greater opportunities, and even more exciting races. It’s a thrilling time for everyone involved, and we can't wait to see what the future holds. We are pleased to announce that our first Shelley Circuit track day will be held on March 8th.
Thank you to everyone who made this weekend possible—from the competitors and volunteers to our incredible team here at One Raceway. This milestone would not have been possible without your passion and dedication. We look forward to seeing you all at future events, and we can’t wait to welcome even more racers, teams, and fans to One Raceway.
